Struck by the Moon

30.00

The moon rose high, as it knows to say goodbye and hello to the day that's past and the fresh night abound.  The moon is proof that we don't need all of our light to provide hope, but just enough to reflect on others a presence that will greatly resound their hopes. So that night I remained happy, got drunk, and celebrated as if I was as old as the moon itself.  And she kissed me.

Unlike the the run of the mill screen-printing process, the Cyanotype process is photographic in nature.  In fact, it was the astronomer and chemist John Frederick William Herschel (Brittish, 1792–1871) who revealed this discovery to the world in his paper “On the Action of the Rays of the Solar Spectrum on Vegetable Colours and on Some New Photographic Processes,” which was presented to the Royal Society of London on June 16, 1842.  It is the second form of photographic printing put into practical use.

Thank you for your interest in my artistic use of it today!  Please be aware that the process is rather inconsistent, and highly susceptible to variants in the tones of blue it produces. No two shirts will look the same.  Though permanent on fabric, the image will fade a bit over time.  All of this is part of great charm and uniqueness it lends to my imagery!  So glad to have you here!

To boost longevity, please hand wash with non-phosphate soaps. Enjoy!
